'Toast' is the Sunday evening youth club for those aged about 13 - 16+. It is a joint group with Westbury Methodist Church and like Quest, while many of those attending, also attend church, not everybody does and ALL are very welcome to come along.
The group meets each Sunday evening during term time at the Methodist Church Hall from 7.30pm - 9.00pms. It is run by our youth worker Gabrielle Nassiry and her team of helpers. The average number attending at the moment is between 15 and 20 youngsters and provides an opportunity for them to socialise. We play Air Hockey, Table Tennis and use the Wii. We watch DVDs occasionally and every week Gabby and the team are playing some kind of game or another. Occasionally we engage in other activities such as playing cricket or rounders, going on treasure hunts etc. during the summer months. We have pizza evenings and 20 of us have even gone out to dinner at a restaurant!
We also use the time to debate particular subjects or topics. This can sometimes relate to our beliefs and Christian outlook on life, but can often be of a more secular nature - discussing subjects and events that affect us all in one way or another.
We will shortly be able to use the new youth lounge and this will provide more of a 'coffee shop' type environment for us all to socialise. This will include access to a widescreen TV as well as internet access, sofas and cushions etc.
