Organ Elevenses

Organ Elevenses is a series of recitals given by local and visiting musicians. Occasionally, recitals are given by other solo musicians and choirs.

Proceeds from Organ Elevenses go towards the parish church organ fund.

Saturday 27th April 2024 from 10.30am – Organ Elevenses with Jean-René André

Our Organ Elevenses 2024 season continues with a recital performed by Jean-René André, accompanist, organ teacher and composer. Jean-René is based at La Schola in Rennes.

The full programme is:

Fantasia in G major (BWV 572) by J.S. Bach
The Pilgrim (from The Magic Flute) by W.A. Mozart
Prelude and Fugue in G minor by Johannes Brahms
Holsworthy Church Bells by Samuel Sebastian Wesley
Scherzetto (from Vingt-quatre pièces en style libre) by Louis Vierne
Variations on Lucis Creator by Jehan Alain
Fugue sur le thème du Carillon des Heures de la Cathédrale de Soissons by Maurice Duruflé

At every recital, hot drinks and cake are served from 10.30am, and the 40-minute recital begins at 11am. A large-screen projection shows all the action from the organ bench. A lovely start to your weekend!

There is a suggested donation of £5 for adults, with under-18s free of charge. We look forward to seeing you there!
