Meet: 9am in the churchyard, setting off soon after, or meet at the White Hart Inn in Iron Acton, BS37 9UG, at 10.15am
Distance: 38 miles (or 18-mile circuit from Iron Acton)
Food and drink: a picnic lunch is advisable!
Finish time: approx. 4pm at the churchyard
Notes: electric bikes are welcome, as are competent child cyclists with an accompanying adult
Background
Ride+Stride is a fun annual sponsored event that takes place all over England. Thousands of people take part every year to raise funds to support their local churches and historic churches trusts. Holy Trinity has been supporting Ride+Stride since 2016.
Riders will cycle from the churchyard to arrive in Iron Acton at about 10.15am. From here, we will visit six churches on an 18-mile circuit, eventually arriving back in Iron Acton. Striders, on the other hand, will be visiting a private chapel at
Chavenage House (aka Trenwith of Poldark fame) and the Church of St Mary the Virgin at Beverston.

Sponsorship
This is a fundraising event: half of the money that we raise will come to Holy Trinity, and the other half will go to Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust, who have supported our church with grants in the past.
In 2025, our area raised over £35,000 for individual churches and for our grants programme. Please consider sponsoring the riders and striders via our Just Giving page.
About Us
The Parish Cycling Group was formed after a very successful three-day trip to Worcester in 2017 to celebrate the 1,300-year anniversary of Holy Trinity Church.
Geoff Carter, our group leader, has decades of experience of leading rides around Bristol and beyond. Our rides provide a great chance to see parts of Bristol that you may never have heard of, all while travelling along relatively traffic-free routes.
