Our annual Youth Weekend Away for ages 8 to 12 runs on a weekend during the May half-term holiday. This year, it will take place from Saturday 25th May to Sunday 26th May.

Where?
We leave Westbury-on-Trym early on Saturday morning for Barton Camp, which is in the Mendip Hills AONB. The camp is a purpose-built centre with modern dormitory accommodation and fantastic facilities.

What?
We have a busy two days of activities, and make full use of the amazing facilities at Barton. We enjoy the outdoor heated swimming pool, the sports hall and the outdoor play equipment. There is also loads of outdoor space for running around. In addition, we have use of an indoor activity room and dining room for some healthy home-cooked food.

We usually return to Westbury-on-Trym at 3pm on Sunday.

How much?
The cost in 2024 is  £50 per child, which includes transport, accommodation, all activities and food. We keep costs to a minimum, and there are bursaries available to families for whom cost is a barrier to their child attending.

Note: all helpers go through the church’s safer recruiting process, including DBS checks, and are involved with youth work.
