Running Soon: Bereavement Course

Have you been bereaved and feel that you may not have come to terms with your loss? Here at Holy Trinity Church, in conjunction with Westbury Baptist Church, we will be running a course that we hope you will benefit from. The Bereavement Journey is for any adult who has been bereaved by death at any time and in any way.

It is suitable for people of all faiths and none, with an optional final session dealing with questions of faith in bereavement from a Christian perspective.

About the Course

The Bereavement Journey is a place to talk. Over seven weekly sessions, participants watch 15 videos and then form small groups. Guided by a volunteer facilitator, and aided by a manual, group members work through their own experience of bereavement, whether grieving a death now, or wanting to explore a previous bereavement that may be unresolved.

Topics include:

  • Attachment, separation and loss
  • The pain and responses of grief
  • Anger and guilt
  • Coping with others’ reactions
  • Delayed and suppressed grief
  • Adjusting to change
  • Moving forward healthily

Please note: this is not a counselling course.

Course Dates

We are running The Bereavement Journey course at Holy Trinity Church from 7pm to 9pm for seven consecutive weeks, starting on Thursday 7th May and finishing with an optional faith-based session on Thursday 18th June.

We should be grateful for a donation of £25 to cover the participants’ manual and a contribution towards church running costs.

If you prefer, you can take the course online instead at a cost of £35 by registering on The Bereavement Journey website.
